East Boca or West Boca? We Ranked the Pizza to Help You Decide

When families start looking at Boca Raton, one of the very first questions is almost always the same: East Boca or West Boca? It is the decision that shapes everything from your commute to your schools to your weekend routine. So we decided to settle a smaller version of that same debate, the tasty one. We ranked six mom and pop pizza shops, three in East Boca and three in West, to crown a champion on each side of town. No chains allowed.

The East Boca side

East Boca is the coastal, walkable, downtown-energy side of the city, anchored by Mizner Park and the Intracoastal. Our three contenders here were Patsy's near Mizner Park, with a recipe that traces back to 1933, Tucci's on Yamato and Federal, the easy neighborhood slice, and Bella Amici on Federal Highway just south of Delray, which has been making pizza the old way from the same spot for 25 years.

East Boca Winner: Bella Amici.

The West Boca side

West Boca is the family-friendly, master-planned side, known for its gated communities, top schools, and a little more room to spread out. Our west side lineup was Aunt Lulu's on New England Boulevard, where everything is made in house, Brooklyn Boys, a big and proudly cheesy slice, and Thick and Thin, the longtime fan favorite that has been a Boca staple for over 40 years.

So, East or West?

Here is the honest truth: the best pizza is a tie, because the right side of town is whichever one fits your life. East Boca rewards people who want coastal living and a walkable downtown. West Boca rewards families who want space, community amenities, and some of the best schools in the county. Both are wonderful, and the choice comes down to your budget, your daily routine, and what you want your weekends to look like.
