Fort Lauderdale's waterfront is about to get busy. The 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs October 28 through November 1, and you don't have to be buying a yacht to feel its impact.

If you're visiting from Boca Raton, planning a day from Parkland or Coral Springs, or looking at a waterfront home in Fort Lauderdale, this is a good week to plan ahead. The show is a reason to explore the area. It is not a shortcut to deciding whether a neighborhood or property fits your everyday life.

2026 Fort Lauderdale boat show dates and hours

The show's official 2026 schedule lists:

  • Wednesday, October 28: noon to 7 p.m. (Preview Day).
  • Thursday, October 29 through Saturday, October 31: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 1: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday is also Halloween. Give yourself room in the schedule rather than stacking a beach outing, a showing and an evening plan with no buffer.

Tickets: buy online before you go

There is no onsite ticketing box office. The organizer's August 4, 2026 announcement lists these ticket prices:

  • Adult one-day general admission, Thursday through Sunday: $48.
  • Adult two-day general admission, Thursday through Sunday: $80.
  • One-day Preview ticket, usable on one day Wednesday through Sunday: $73.
  • Two-day Preview plus general admission, Wednesday through Sunday: $105.
  • Children ages 6-12: $19 for one day. Children under 6 enter free with an adult.

Check the final checkout total, ticket validity and current terms before paying. The official FAQ says sales are final except if the event is cancelled, and the show runs rain or shine. Boarding a boat is at the exhibitor's discretion, even with show admission.

Military and veteran admission is a detail to confirm directly: the official announcement specifies Sunday, November 1, while the current FAQ says any show day. Don't make travel plans around an unconfirmed exception.

Park once, then use the show's transportation

The Broward County Convention Center at 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard is the organizer's recommended transportation hub. The 2026 announcement and current parking page list more than 3,000 spaces and a $20 daily rate. A legacy parking page still shows a different price, so use the current event page and check the posted rate when you arrive.

Complimentary shuttles connect the show areas. The Purple route runs between the Convention Center and Bahia Mar. The Green route connects the Convention Center, Superyacht Village and Bahia Mar. The Red route links the Brightline Fort Lauderdale station and Riverside Hotel, while the Blue route connects West Marine Center and Bahia Mar.

Shuttles start one hour before the show opens and stop one hour after it closes. Golf carts run during show hours. Review the current map before you leave because routes can change.

Coming from Boca Raton or West Palm Beach?

Brightline is an option worth comparing with driving. Check your train times and fare separately. From the Fort Lauderdale station, the show's Red shuttle reaches the Riverside Hotel. A water taxi can take you onward to the waterfront show areas, but that is a separate ticket, not a direct free station-to-dock ride.

The show's current water-taxi page lists $15 for a one-day pass and $65 for a five-day pass. Children under 5 ride free, and Windward VIP tickets include the water taxi. Water taxis run from an hour before opening to an hour after closing. Confirm the route and return trip so you aren't guessing at the end of the day.

What local residents should plan around

The event spans the waterfront around Bahia Mar, Las Olas Marina, the Convention Center and Pier Sixty-Six. Expect a busier area during show hours and allow extra travel time around the 17th Street and beach corridors. That's a planning caution, not a specific road-closure announcement.

If you have an appointment, delivery or home showing nearby, confirm timing and parking in advance. Check the City of Fort Lauderdale's current traffic notices closer to the event. Don't assume every street will be closed, or that a quiet side street on one visit tells you what everyday traffic looks like.

Waterfront home shopping: look beyond the view

The boat show is a fun introduction to Fort Lauderdale's boating scene. When it turns into a conversation about buying a waterfront home, slow down and inspect the exact property.

  • Dock fit: Check usable dock length, boat dimensions and the rules that apply to the property.
  • Access: Verify water depth, tides, bridge clearance and the route to open water for your actual boat.
  • Condition: Have the seawall, dock and related systems evaluated by qualified professionals.
  • Costs and limits: Review flood exposure, insurance quotes, maintenance, permits and any association restrictions.
  • Everyday use: Visit on an ordinary weekday as well as during a major event. Think through your commute and the services you use.

A waterfront address alone does not guarantee suitable boating access. And the popularity of a boat show does not establish future home values. Compare the home with current, relevant sales and condition information, not an event's excitement.

A simple plan for a good day

Buy your tickets ahead, choose a transportation plan, wear comfortable shoes and bring sun protection. Many boats require shoes to be removed. The official FAQ prohibits drones and pets other than permitted service animals. Check its current entry rules before packing.

The Convention Center also has marine exhibits and activities. The 2026 announcement lists a Kids Corner and weekend fishing clinics. Check the current program for timing rather than assuming every activity runs all day.

If you're also exploring a move to Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Parkland or Coral Springs, let's separate the fun outing from the property decision and look at what fits your needs. Call or text Chris Cusimano with Homes by Cusi at (561) 289-9305.
